Nowadays, the data processing used for analyzing multifaceted disasters is based on technologies of mass observation acquisition. Terrestrial laser scanning one those and enables quick, non-invasive acquisition information about an object after a disaster. This manuscript presents improvement in approach to reconstruction modeling objects, obtained by terrestrial presented authors previous work, as method detection dimensioning displacement adjacent planes. The original Msplit estimation implemented research papers has specific limitation: functional model must be selected very carefully terms mathematical description estimated its structure. As result, using from scanners not universal approach. solution this problem orthogonal proposed authors. propose new solution: (OMsplit). modification existing regression Nelder–Mead function minimization function. implementation facilitates avoidance misfitting cases unfavorable because corrections are calculated perpendicularly plane. was introduced due it being more robust local minimum objective than LS method. To present results, simulated measurement retaining wall that damaged disaster (violent storm) scanner their own software. conducted confirmed OMsplit can successfully two-plane data.
